Title - Embarrassing Change

Teacher:-  Pastor Afolabi Samuel

Main Text:- Isaiah 43:18-19

Things change!!!
Just as seasons change, (summer, winter, autumn & spring), things change.
Scientists can't do anything about it
The only person that doesn't change is God

Key Points
1) If you are not willing to move at God's pace, He would use somebody else
There is always a replacement available. E.g King Saul  vs David 1 Sam 16:1

2) Different people have been assigned into your life/Destiny
Some people will do you good, some will hurt you
Even in the life of Jesus, God brought Judas into His life inorder to fulfil the scriptures. Matt 26:21

3) You have to cut OFF ungodly friends. some friendships have outlived their purpose.
You need to let go. An example is of Abraham vs Lots Gen 13:1-12

Title - Why Double Portion?

Teacher:-  Pastor Clement

Main Text:- 2 Kings 13:14-20

Other Bible Texts: 2 Kings 2:9-10, Prov 24.10, Job 1:6-9, Rev 2:13, Jer 12.5
The main point of consideration here is from vs 19 of the main text.

In the book of 2 Kings 2:9-10, why did Elisha ask his master for a double portion of anointing?

Elisha could have easily asked Elijah for the same portion of anointing his master possessed. However, he asked for a double portion. He clearly understood that the power to defeat the battle of yesterday, is not sufficient for the battle of tomorrow.

No wonder Elisha was angry with King Joash because he knew the battle awaiting him was great. So also we need to be steadfast and stay awake at all times.

Consider David, little did he know after defeating bears and lions in the bush, he would face Goliath. If he relied on the strength used to overcome the animals, how could he defeat Goliath? If he relied on the strength used to defeat Goliath, how could he have overcome Saul?

In life, after overcoming one battle, there is a greater one ahead.
Because the Devil is constantly looking for means to bring us down (Job 1:6-9), we must never rely on the strength of yesterday.

Title - You Cannot be Praiseful, Unless You are Thankful

Teacher:-  Minister John Adedeji

Main Text:- Psalms 100.4

What is thanksgiving?
1. Recounting the past acts of God.
It is simply counting your blessings Ps 103:1-2
2. It is an Attitude of Gratitude to God for what He has done for you
3. It is a force that moves your heart to celebrate the Acts of God in your life

Why Must We Give Thanks
1. It is a good thing Ps 92:1
2. It is the Will of God 1Thess 5:18
3. It is the key to access the promise of God Heb 10.36
4. Your prayer is NOT complete without thanksgiving Phil 4.6
5. Thanksgiving turns dead things into life, John 11.41

Quotes
Gratitude is a spiritual force that empowers you to scale higher. You cannot change to higher level without it.

What Makes Thanksgiving Powerful
1. Thanksgiving paves the way for fresh impact Ps 89:20-24
2. It is the key to your supernatural victory 2 Chron 20:22-24
3. Multiplication answer to gratitude John 6:6-13
4. Thanksgiving establishes you in the house of God Ps 92:1-3
5. Sustainable fruitfulness Ps 92:14

Key Points
1. Praise is a powerful instrument, it attracts God's presence. If you have being struggling with a problem, try praise. It can change your life because, as you praise God, the earth releases her increase and you would be blessed

2.  Being thankless and unappreciative has a negative impact on the human heart

3. An attitude of praise and thanksgiving makes a merry heart.
A merry heart does good like medicine. It takes a joyful heart to go through a day, week, month challenges not withstanding

4. Amazingly, many people think it is their duty to worry over issues.
Murmuring, complaining and worrying does not solve any problem
But praise and thanksgiving ventilates your mind and allows you to think straight

Conclusion
The height of a building is determined by its foundation

When you start well and continue in the same your end shall surely be successful

Your attitude determines your altitude

Title - Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart

Teacher:- Pastor Gabriel Adeyeye

Main Text:- 1 Chron 16:8
Other Text: 1 Chron 16:34, Ps 92:1, Ps 105:1, Ps 106.1, Ps 107.1

Did you know that your gratitude to God will determine your altitude in life?
When you praise God, he breaks protocols on your behalf.
A case study would be Paul and Silas as seen in the book of Acts 16:23-34.
They were flogged and kept in Jail for preaching the gospel.
However, this did not stop them from rendering sincere praises to God even in Jail.
God could not resist their praise and broke protocol on their behalf.
In the same book of Acts 16:26, God caused a great earthquake to shake the foundations of the prison and openedthe doors of the prison.
Their bands were also loosened.
Note!!!
Before your gratitude can be acceptable, there must be genuine repentance from your past sins 2 Chron 7.14
May the Spirit of gratitude rest upon our lives in Jesus Name

Tough times do not last forever for people that abide in Christ. However, if you do not know Christ, not only will the challenge last, it would be overwhelming.

The Winning Weapons to endure to the end are

- 2. The Word of God (Heb 4.12)

- 3. The Name of Jesus (Prov 18.21, Phil 2:9-11, 2 Cor 5:17)

Title - How To Hear The Voice of The Holy Spirit

Teacher:- Pastor Ayo

Main Text:- Luke 11:9-13

Before diving into topic of "hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit", if you desire the Holy Spirit, ask of the Father, and He will freely give unto you. Luke 11:9-13

However, you must willingly hearken unto God's words and obey him John 10.27, John 10.4.
He could speak to you from your thoughts Prov 20.27.

Howbeit, if you violate the voice of the Holy Spirit, you will find it difficult to understand Him when he speaks.
Furthermore, you will find it very difficult to discern between the voice of God and the devil

Peradventure, you may have made the mistake of disobeying God's words, and cannot discern His voice from the devil's, you can take the following steps:
Diligent Prayer, Fasting, and continually spend time in His presence

Also, you need to:
1. Have faith that God actually spoke to you and you heard him in your thoughts

2. Commit to following the Voice of the Holy Spirit

3. Remember that your heart is like a radio. You have to be tuned to the frequency where you can get clear signals from Christ
Read The Bible, Pray, Fast, dwell in God's presence

4. Once the above is done, He will introduce the means of clarification. This way, you will know He is the one speaking and can easily discern His Voice.

Remain Blessed :)

Title - I Shall End Well

Teacher:- Pastor Paul Orimolusi

Main Text:- Deut 32:29

In life there is something we ought to consider. Not everyone that starts a race will get the winning price.
For example, in the last Olympics, all contending athletes were involved in the race. However, only one person received the Gold Medal.
In like manner, we are all in race and the way we end the race matters to God.

From the very day of your birth in this world, your race has begun. We see an example of this account in the book of Matthew 2.
As soon as Jesus was born, King Herod attempted killing baby Jesus. Similarly, as soon as you are born, your race begins. Deuteronomy  32:29

Categories of Racers

1) Poor Starters that Ended poorly: Luke 23:39
An example is the thief that was hung on the cross next to Jesus. He started poorly and still ended his life poorly.

2) Poor Starters that Ended well - Luke 23:40-43,  2 Tim 4:6-7, 1 Tim 1:13

3) Racers that started well yet ended poorly: 1 Sam 28:3-18, 1 Chron 10:13-14

4) Racers that started well and ended well: John 14:30, John 19:30

Reflection

What Category do you fit in?
Do you still have interest in the things of God?
Are you on the narrow path?
Are you mindful of where you will spend your eternity?

Moral Lessons:

No matter how poorly you started, there is still hope to end well. If Christ could pray for Peter to end well, By Christ's Grace, you will end well

Prayer Point:

Lord I shall not perish with the World

Title - Let Your Light Shine

Teacher:- Deaconess Colette Wolfe

Main Text:- Matthew 5:6

In the main text, Jesus encourages us to allow our light shine so that people can see Christ in us.

When Christ says, "let your light shine: what does he mean?

1) He wants us to be compassionate: Luke 10:30-34
Just like the story of the merciful Samaritan. He saw someone in need and did not walk away Luke 10:30-34

2) Do not be fearful - Numbers 13:30-32, Luke 1:30, 2 Tim 1:7

3) Do not show doubt (as this breaks God's heart) Luke 1:18-20
Zachariah, doubted the possibility of having a child at his old age. This was displeasing to God. Do we doubt God when things are not going our way? James 1:5-8, Prov 28:20

4) Show Faith (By truly believing in Him) - Heb 11:6

5) Abstain from Anger Gen 4:5, James 1:20, Eph 4:31-32, Prov 10.12, 1 cor 13:4-5

6) Walk before Him - Eph 5:8

7) Abstain from Hatred 1 John 4.8, 1 John 1:9

Title - Season of Multiplication

Teacher:- Pastor Daniel Gbolahan

Main Text:- John 21:1-14

The number "9" is a very significant one
1) There are 9 fruits and gifts of the spirit. Gal 5:22-23.
2) The number 9 is also the due month for child delivery.
3) The ninth hour is associated with prayer Acts 3:1, Acts 10:30.
4) Multiplication is a sign of life and fulfilment of purpose. Gen 1:28
5) Today is the 9th day of the ninth month (it's no coincidence)
Note: The devil hates multiplication or increase. Hence, anywhere multiplication is possible, opposition and confrontation will be available Ex 1:10-14
However, with God, you can overcome all oppositions Is 66:7-9. Is 1:1 & 3.
Prayer point
Every good thing in my life due for delivery, I shall deliver safely this month in Jesus Name.

A priest must have an altar (a place where you worship and reverence the Almighty God

Just like the father of the prodigal son, who never gave up on him

Title - A call to freedom

Teacher:- Pastor Paul Orimolusi

Main Text:-  Matthew 11:28

Other Bible Passages:- Matthew 11:28 (KJV), Hebrews 9:27, John 8:44 (KJV), 2 Corinthians 2:11, 1 Corinthians 15:31, 2 Timothy 3:12, Matthew 5:11-12, Psalms 130:3 (KJV) Acts 17:30 (KJV), 1 Peter 5:8

Jesus, in the book of Matt 11:28 has called each and every one with burdens to come unto Him
Because of the sins of our forefathers (Adam & Eve), all of us are in a ditch (sin).

However God has made a way out of the ditch through his Son Jesus. However it is a choice to accept the way out of the ditch through Christ.

  • It is a call from sorrow to joy
  • It is a call from troubled heart to a settled heart
  • It is a call  from lack to abundance
  • From being needy to becoming a victor
  • A call from the valley unto the mountain top

Indeed it is a very rich call that many people all over the world today have decided to reject.
It includes freedom from the works of the flesh, attacks of the devil and the ditch of the enemy.
However as children of God, we know that the devil does not want anyone to be freed from this bondage. He has many techniques to stop us from receiving our freedom. E.g by stopping us from listening to the word of God, or stopping us from acting on the word

How does the devil Operate - 1) Discouraging people by creating issues that will cause your spirit to be down (depression)

How does the devil Operate - 2) By allowing others to persecute the true worshippers of Jesus. 2 Tim 3.12, Matt 5:11-12

How does the devil Operate - 3)  Try to confuse us regarding the existence of heaven and hell Heb 9.27

How does the devil Operate - 4) By Entering into False brethren to pull you down

How does the devil Operate - 5) By reminding you of your past Acts 17:30
How do we retain our freedom - 1) Be sensitive to the word of God 1 Pet 5:8, 2 Cor 7:10

How do we retain our freedom - 2) Watch and pray Matt 26:41

How do we retain our freedom - 3) Move with godly and positive minded people

Other Bible Passages:- Heb 12:11

1) School: Everyone has different potentials. Hence it is important not to compare yourself to others.

2) Discipline: Children, discipline is good as it makes you know what is wrong or right. Don't assume your parents are cruel because they correct or discipline you. It is all out of love. See Prov 22:15, Heb 12:11

3) Parent's!! It is important to have a relationship between parents and children. When there is relationship, there is no dictatorship

Title - Be free Indeed

Teacher:- Pastor Grace Okorende

Main Text:- John 8:36

Other Bible Passages:-  Luke 8:28 (KJV), Genesis 3:24 (KJV), John 8:32 (KJV), Genesis 3:12 (KJV), 2 Corinthians 5:19 (KJV) 1 Timothy 3:15 (KJV) Ephesians 1:20-22 (KJV) Luke 8:1-3 (KJV) John 1:12 (KJV) John 16:7 (KJV) Ephesians 6:12-13 (KJV) Isaiah 59:1-3 (KJV) Ephesians 2:5-6 (KJV) John 5:5-20 (KJV) Job 1:6 (KJV) Job 2:1 (KJV) Revelation 12:10 (KJV)

What does it mean to be free? To have the power or right to act, speak or think as one wants without hindrance or resistance. The absence of subjection.
Satan, in his subtle way, put our first parents (Adam & Eve) in bondage through the sin of disobedience Gen 3.24. But Because God is full of mercy, he himself came in the form man to reconcile us to himself

Why do we need freedom

1) Freedom is entitled to the children of God (to break us away from the bondage of sin) John 5:5-14
All unrighteousness is sin (anything not in standing with God). In the end, sin brings bondage.

What Brings Bondage:

1) Anger, Bitterness, retaliation. 2 Kings 3:13-15; Eph 4:26-27, Mark 11:25, Prov 19:19, Prov 19.11
2) Sorrowing instead praising God. Acts 16:16-40
3) Disobedience Gen 3:24, Gen 3:12
4) Abusing God's grace Eph 6:12, Eph 2:5-6, John 5:14,
5) Sexual Immorality 1 Cor 6:19, Matt 5:29

When you allow any of these reside in you, then you are letting the accuser of brethren stand against your blessings. Job 1:6, Job 1:7, Job 2:1, Rev 12:1

Title - Deceptions of the devil

Teacher:- Pastor Paul Orimolusi

Main Text:- Revelations 4:11, 1 Peter 5:8

Bible Passages:-  Exodus 5:2, Exodus 8:1, Exodus 9:1, Exodus 8:28, Exodus 10:9-10, Exodus 10.24, Exodus 14:5-18, Joshua 24:15, 1 Samuel 2:12.

From the main bible passage (Revelations 4:11 & 1 Pet 5:8), we learn that God has created all things well and for a good purpose.
However, the Devil has various deceptions he uses with the attempt of hindering us from fulfilling God's purpose in our life

The Deceptions of the Devil are
1. To prevent people from moving forward (to fulfill our destiny) Ex 5:2, Ex 8:1, Ex 9:1

2. Go! but not too far
For example having one leg in the world; and the other leg in the church Ex 8:28

3. Go! but leave your family (the devil may use your spouse or even children to stay back in the world) 1 Sam 2:12

4. Go! but leave your livestock (your livelihood). E.g the Devil may use unemployment to deprive the children of God Ex 24:15

5. Go! but I will pursue you and capture you

The Lord free us from every evil deception of the devil in Jesus Name. Amen

Knowledge is power and 'knowledge' put into action leads to greater power

A man of God advised that he was struggling financially.  However we was able to get out of his predicament by tracing his problem back to the word of God

Similarly, If you are able to trace your problem back to the word of God, you will find the solution right there. This is because God has promised that whatsoever you ask in His Name,  be it in the area of finance, health, wisdom or 'whatsoever', He will do it.

Examples of bible passages that confirm this promises could be found in :

  • Colossians 3:23-25
  • John 14:13-14
  • Jeremiah 29:11
  • Mark 11:24
  • Matthew 16:19
  • Luke 18:1
