Title - Help From God

Main Text:- Psalms 121

Teacher: Pastor Paul Orimolusi

Irrespective of who you are, you would always need help.

However, not everyone gets help, because they seek help from the wrong source.

Most of us turn to our spouse, children or even the government for help.
Then get disappointed when humans don't meet our needs.

For example, Rachel was barren and turned to her husband, Jacob for help.
But, Jacob was in no place to give her children (Gen 30:1-2)

Likewise, Job's wife disappointed him in his moment of despair (Job 2:9)

Children could also be a source of disappointment.
Absolom, David's very son, turned against him and tried to kill him (2 Sam 15:19)

Friends may disappoint us. David bore witness that his very own friend turned against him (Psalms 41:9)

Relatives may have disappointed you in the past (Matthew 10.36)

Even as individuals, we may have disappointed ourselves in the past (Job 3:1).

Truth is, as humans we are all limited.

The only source of help, that will NEVER disappoint us is Jesus Christ (Isaiah 41:10)
Give your life to Him, and He will never let you down.

Title - The Devil's Target

Teacher:- Pastor Paul Orimolusi

The Devil's target is our soul.

The Devil knows that he has no chance of repentance with God, hence he wants to drag all humans to hell. That is why it cost Jesus His precious soul to redeem us (Mark 8:36-37)

The Devil has many techniques to lure souls to hell. Here are some examples
1) Closes the mind of unbelievers from receiving the Gospel (2 cor 4.4, 2 Cor 2:11)

2) Makes people dull of hearing (Gal 4:19, Mark 13.16)

3) Delayed answers to prayers (Prov 13:12, Daniel 10.13)

4) Testing our faith (Isaiah 43:1-2, Gen 22:1-18)

5) Entices humans with bates (Gen 25: 29-33)

Don't be lured into the Devil's devices

Teacher:- Pastor Paul Orimolusi

Main Text:- Psalms 118:1-5

God is a merciful God.
However, His mercy should not be unappreciated/taken for granted.
Otherwise, he may withdraw His mercy.

To avoid God from withdrawing His mercy, we must learn from King David.

God Did Not  Withdraw His mercies from David because:
1) He praised God at all times (Ps 34:1, Ps 122:1)

2) He praised God with all of His Heart (2 Sam 6:14)

3) He was Humble (James 4:6)

4) He was prayerful (Psalms 35:13)

5) He freely gave to God (2 Samuel 24:24)

Also do not fail to speak about Jesus (John 15:1-2)
Have a blessed Week.

Title - New Baptism of The Holy Spirit

Teacher:- Pastor Esirigho Ofurhie

Main Text:- Acts 4:20

As humans we have personal desires & goals.
However, God tells us to seek Him first (Matthew 6:33).
We tend to forget that it is when we seek God first, other things we desire would come to us.

God understands our weaknesses and knows it it is difficult for us to yield unto His will
and  that is why he wants to give us His Spirit.
Even Paul testified in Rom 7:15 that he struggled with doing the right thing.
But with the help of The Holy Spirit, he was able to do God's will.

When you have the Holy Spirit, doing the Will of God comes easily.
Jeremiah said, even when he tried keeping his mouth shut (stop prophesying), it was impossible (Jeremiah 20:9)
This is because the Spirit of God was in Him, he couldn't help but do God's Will.

Likewise, we need The Holy Spirit.
The problem is, we do not tarry (patient) enough for the Holy Spirit Acts 1:4.
Moses tarried with God and when he came back from the mountain, the Isrealites could not behold his face
In like manner, we must continually seek Him and not be lukewarm.
Also, for the outpouring of The Holy Spirit, we must be born again.

Seek God today for an outpouring of The Holy Spirit.

4. Thanksgiving is to honour God (Colossians 3:15-17, Eph 5:20)

Title - He's Calling You

Teacher:- Deaconess Ruth Ogundipe

Main Text:- Mark 10:46-52

From the main bible text, Jesus stood still, called Bartimaeus and asked Him "What do you want me to do for you"?
Bartimaeus gave him a straight answer saying "That I receive my sight"

In like manner, if Jesus stood still and asked "What shall I do for you"? Do you have a straight answer for Him?

or would you be like Martha who would only give long complaints? (John 11:1-44)

Jesus is ever ready to take care of your pain, worries and frustrations.
All you need do is give Him a straight answer when He asks "What do you want me to do for you"?

In Genesis 3:9, when God asked Adam "Where are you", Adam did not give God a straight answer
He replied "I was naked; and I hid myself".
Because Adam sinned, he hid from God. Don't make that mistake.
No matter how bad your mistakes or past maybe, he still loves you.
Despite Adam's disobedience to God, God himself covered His nakedness Gen 3:21

Another example of someone with a terrible past is Jacob
He was a liar and a deceiver. Despite his past, God transformed him from Jacob to Israel

Likewise, he wants to cover your nakedness, shames, mistakes, regrets and whatever it is that may weigh you down.

The devil may place barriers to stop you from getting God's attention.
In the case of blind Bartimaeus, people around him were shunning him from calling on Jesus
He didn't let this stop him. Instead he yelled out the more "Jesus, Son of David, Have mercy on me"

Similarly, Zachaeus knew quite well that his small stature would hinder him from gaining Jesus' attention.
Rather than going home depressed, he made the effort of climbing a tree to grab Jesus' attention  Luke 19 (1-10)

Irrespective of the barrier in your part, (which could come in the form of laziness, busyness, pain etc), you need to make an effort.
If you diligently seek God, with all of your might, you will find Him Hebrews 11:6

God Bless You!!!

Title - From Bitterness to Sweetness

Teacher:- Minister John

Main Text:- Ruth 1:20

Types of Bitterness

1) Financial Mess Prov 10.15
2) Spiritual Prov (14:10)
3) Marital Problem (Ruth 1:20)
4) Sickness (your health) 2 Kings 5:1-19 & Is 38:1-5
5) Academic failure (Ex 14 & Ex 15:1-22)

Why Did God Cause the Isrealites to experience "Marah"

1) So he could prove himself as a healer
2) He wants them to totally depend on him
3) Because He wants us to have testimonies (remember, with no cross, no crown, no trial means no testimony)
4) To Strengthen us to get to our promised land

What do we have to do for Sweetness to Come

1) Patience Heb 6:12
2) Obedience & knowing the God You serve (Ex 6:6-8)
3) Go to Bethel (The place of prayer) - Ruth 1:20-21
4) Discover your purpose of being in Marah (Praise & Worship Him)
5) Finally for sweetness to come to Marah, there is a stick or tree thrown into the water. Ex 15:25. The stick represents destiny helpers. For Naomi & Ruth, their destiny helper was Boaz. For You and I, Jesus Christ our destiny helper. He is the only one able to turn bitterness into sorrow.

Prayer
1} Father, every area or any area I have been experiencing bitterness, Lord turn it to testimony today

2} Father, don't let my own case be difficult please Lord show me your mercy.

Title - Redeeming The Time

Teacher:- Pastor Paul Orimolusi

Main Text:- Ephesians 5.16

To redeem means to buy something back.
For example, when we say Christ has redeemed us, it means Christ has bought us back with His blood from the dungeon of sin
Anyone who steals your time steals your destiny.
It is also to pay attention to the needful. Don't push till tomorrow what needs to be done today.

Why Must we Redeem Time

  • Because the days are evil (Matt 24:6-13)

The world is in chaos
You can't be a friend to the world and your past sinful life and God at the same time (Matt 5:11-12)

  • False prophets are also arising so we have to be discerning.
  • Many shall also be offended. In this life, offences will come, but don't waste time holding grudges. You must forgive. Mark 11:25
  • Many Christians will backslide. There will be a falling away. Backsliding is a dangerous state. 2Thess 2:3.
  •  The love of many will wax cold (Matt 24.12)
  •  Deceptive Prophets will deceive many

How to Redeem Time
1) Return to God (with all of your heart). Go back to the drawing board and ask God to show you where you missed it.
The rapture can take place at any time.
2) Intensify soul winning. John 9:4

Title - The Glamour of Heaven

Teacher:- Pastor Kola

Main Text:- 2 Corinthians 5:1-5

Everyone's time on earth is limited because earth is not our home. The book of Heb 11:13, describes us as strangers on earth.

There are two final destinations after life on earth - Heaven or hell Matt 25.46
It is important to do all you can to make it into His kingdom

Journey to heaven is fun because

1) You are carried by angels (Luke 16.22)

2) Those taken by rapture will be welcomed with great carnivals

3) It is a place of victory & celebration Rev 19:1-7

4) It is stunningly beautiful (Rev 21.21-25)

5) There will be series of events (appreciation day) 2 Cor 5:9-10

6) There will be a Marriage Party (Rev 19.9)

How Do I prepare for Heaven

1) By making my relationship with Jesus intimate to the end (Rom 8:3-39)

2) By refusing to faint or lose heart no matter the situation (Phil 1:20-21, 2 Cor 4:16-17, Mark 13.13, John 16.33)

3) By staying clear of sin (Rev 21:26-27, Rev 21.8, Matthew 15:19-20)

4) Understanding the devices of the devil (1 Cor 2.11, 2 Cor 11:14)

5) Not loving the world and things of the world ( 1 John 2:15-17).

6) Do all you can to make your journey to heaven a reality(2 Tim 4:7-8).
And God Himself who is faithful, will make it possible for you
Have a Blessed Week

Title - A Meal of Reflection

Teacher:- Pastor Kola

Main Text:- John 21:15-17

In the main text, Jesus repeatedly asked Peter (three times) to confirm he truly loved Him.
This is because,

2 - God wants His love for us to be reciprocal (1 John 4.19, Mark 12:30)

3 - When you love God, you would love others (Phil 2:3-4)

4) Love is about action (not just words) John 3:16. You need to use your skills, talents, time, resources etc for God's glory.
